This Week's Happenings

Zachary has been going through a major block/lego building phase. He usually wants company while he's playing though so I get numerous requests throughout the day to 'play blocks'. His latest thing is to build what he calls 'Chica Town'. Chica is our hamster. He keeps asking when we can get Chica out to play in her town. I haven't been brave enough to try because I have a sneaking suspicion that Chica would prefer the underside of the couch to the playground! So here is his latest 'Chica Town'.

I've been slowly working on painting. This week I was able to finish the living room, the entryway, and the main hallway. I still have the dining room, kitchen, family room, and more hallways to finish. I'm not even thinking about the bathrooms yet, I don't want to get discouraged!

I tried taking some pictures but the colors don't really show up very well. The color I've used so far is Benjamin Moore 'Cedar Key'. I like how it looks with my furniture. For the kitchen I'm going to do a blue/gray, probably 'Mt. Rainier Gray' and sometime in the future paint my kitchen cabinets white. I'm still trying to decide on a good color for the basement family room.

Nathan and Zachary have both helped with the painting. Zachary got tired of it pretty quickly, thank goodness, but Nathan did most of the first coat in the hallway and entryway. He was very persistant about it! I waited until he was playing to do the second coat. *wink*
